Given that she was in Knockturn Alley, alone, having blatantly lied to her father about where she was going, that didn't appear to be the whole truth. In fact, it seemed like about as much of a lie as it was to tell her dad that she was going to meet friends in Hogsmeade.
She comforted herself with the knowledge that she was simply getting a lay of the land, so to speak.
Knockturn alley had always been a hub for dark magic, and more to the point, dark magic doers. It had been almost a year since her mother had been murdered by Death Eaters, but the grief and the anger was no less potent; it was simply channeled into a more productive activity. Like searching out anyone who'd had a hand in that attack and avenging Natalia Thorne.
CJ wasn't sure when exactly she'd landed on her plan to exact revenge justice, but she was fairly certain it had happened somewhere between her father basically living at the office when she wasn't at home, and her own terrible nightmares of the situation she'd only been partially informed of. The ghost of her mother was present everywhere, not literally but figuratively, and the reality was that there was nothing CJ could do besides move forward. Forward, to her, meant a purpose, and making sure that they paid for what they'd done to her family? That seemed like as good a purpose as any.
So, she'd brought herself right into the thick of things. She wasn't sure if it was going to help, but she had no other ways to make contacts within the darker faction of the world. The Gryffindor in her wanted to rage and rail against some of the things she was seeing, but with no small amount of effort, she kept her face carefully neutral.
Celestina has been to Knockturn Alley numerous times by now all thanks to her aunt, but it still felt odd for her. Each time she enters that alley it would give her the creeps as though someone was watching her with a malicious intent. But that was what she had been getting these days, suspicious looks and questioning stares. All because she was marrying a Parkinson, a family who have been known supporters of the dark lord, and she was the niece to Hesper Burke and not to mention that she was the newly appointed DADA professor which itself earned quite the stares. All of them have been talking of how she would also turn out to be a dark arts practitioner. Celestina was still not sure how the Daily Prophet managed to get a whiff of that, and she was rather surprised with the amount of research they did, given that they have even found out her relationship with the Delacour family. She was a person everyone was trying to figure out, and truth be told sh quite enjoyed it. To be a mysterious person with secrets, not that she had any to begin with. But she liked it, at least till now it was only looks and nothing else. She really hoped that no one would approach her to cause harm, as that was the last thing she wanted to involve herself in. While they may have dug about her familial relationships and such, they did not find out about the fact that she was an expert dueler and trying to take her down would be a tad bit more difficult than one can imagine.

Engaged to Parkinson, those were the whispers she was hearing these days and Celestina had to wonder if the wizarding folks had no other job apart from gossiping. 'I mean why would they care who I am engaged with' she thought as she made her way towards the familiar shop. Borgin and Burkes, the shop was co-owned by Hesper's husband and Celestina had found herself as a regular to that place. She had always taken a liking to he unique and antique wares sold in that dark and dingy place. As she made her way inside, her eyes fell on a witch who seemed to be a bit out of place in her opinion. Everyone who ever entered the alley would have a purpose and many would go to great lengths to conceal themselves from others, and here was a blonde witch who was standing out pretty much. Even Celestina herself had on a long black cloak with a hood covering most of her face. It would not do her good if people would come to know that the new DADA prof was dwelling in the dark alley known for it's dark art wielders. The last thing she needed was for the general public to think that she was what they had expected her to be. Celestina observed that the girl was pretty young, young enough to even be a Hogwarts student which made her wonder if she had lost her way. And thus she approached the witch and making sure that her face was covered enough she spoke up "what brings you into this place young witch?"
